Farzain Majeed

Hey there! My name is Farzain and I am a senior working towards my bachelors in computer science at UCF. My project is focused around creating an end-to-end deep learning based network that can accurately steer a car in a variety of situations using just a camera. One of the motivations is that a pure vision based system only requires a couple of cameras to get going and is very cheap. Compare this to something like an autonomous Tesla vehicle where just the sensors cost more than most normal cars themselves. The project is pretty much a bunch of problems in one and requires that I thoroughly understand a variety of concepts such as object detection, segmentation, saliency mapping, and many more. For example, you can't properly drive if you can't properly identify a traffic light! The aim is to create a network that understands all these nuances of driving in an end-to-end fashion. You can contact me at farza@knights.ucf.edu for more information.
