- Dr. Justin Romberg (Georgia Institute of Technology) August 6, 11:00-12:00 in HEC 102. Dr. Romberg met with GAUSS mentors at 10:00-10:50 in EECS Dean's conference room and listened and discussed on GAUSS students' research in the afternoon 2:00-4:00 in HEC 102.
- GAUSS students joined the party with other REU, visiting scholars, faculty , and graduate students at Dr. Shah's house on August 2.
- GAUSS students Jie Liang, Zack Merritt, Jennifer Nealy, Talon Ward, James Wilson went to St. Paul to participate and presented in the National CSUMS Cionference 2010 from July 25 to July 28.

- Dr. Niels Lobo will present a talk on applications from computer vision.

- Dr. Jack Xin from University of California at Irvine will visit our GAUSS program and give a talk on computational mathematics.
- Dr. Yong will give a presentation on control theory and its applications, including mathematical finance. You can find the related files in student login area.
- Dr. Schober gave a presentation on rouge waves. Please notice that meeting time has been changed to 6:00-7:00PM. Pizza will be served.
- (i) Chris Huff was awarded the College of Graduate Studies's Dean Fellowship for his graduate study in mathematics. (ii) Leon Felipe Guerrero has been accepted to the highly competitive MURF program in CalTech. He will be working with Dr. Peter Bossaerts, the William D. Hacker Professor of Economics and Management and Professor of Finance. Congratulations!
